Questions after reading Beyond Freedom and Dignity
How are positive reinforcers used in ways that have aversive consequences? Gambling takes money for the government just as well as taxation. Though people like losing money by gambling, they don’t like losing it to taxation. Both have aversive consequences, though gambling effects may be worse. Explain why the effects of positive reinforcement are not as easily recognized as punishment. Positive reinforcement can disguise the aversive contingencies that include taking your money or keeping you in a society to use your body for warfare. Chapter 8 Exam Terms
